It began with Violet.
In 1974, Violet wanted a salon of her own — and, by family account, became one of the first women in town to sign for credit in her own name. She bought a small home on Pearl Road in Strongsville, spent two years turning it into the salon she’d imagined, and opened in 1976. One conviction filled the place: People rise to the vision they have for themselves.
For forty years she proved it. She remembered everything — your hair, your water, what August did to it, what you were hoping for this time. Her clients became lifelong friends, and people left her salon taller than they walked in.
No billboard ever did that. No discount ever did that. A person did that.
Studio 1 is a family-owned salon now, built to carry her way of working to everyone — the remembering, the honesty, the being in your corner — there was only one thing we could call it. Vi.
